We beginnen een nieuwe leesgroep over het anarchisme! Daarvoor is iedereen uitgenodigd, of je nou net lid bent geworden, al jaren actief lid bent, of buiten de Vrije Bond actief bent en dit op de website leest. Dit is een maandelijkse online leesgroep voor de hele Vrije Bond en alle anarchisten daarbuiten. Er hebben zich de laatste tijd veel nieuwe leden aangesloten, daarom bespreken we de basisprincipes van het anarchisme.

Het doel van de leesgroep is om van en door elkaar te leren. Om samen te kijken naar de bouwstenen van het anarchisme, hoe die er uit zien en hoe wij die in de wereld vorm kunnen geven. De teksten die we lezen moeten een opstapje zijn naar interessante discussies, maar het gaat dus meer om de thema’s en de discussie dan om de teksten zelf. Daarnaast is het goed als de leesgroep voor zoveel mogelijk mensen toegankelijk is.
Voor deze leesgroep zullen we een iets andere aanpak nemen dan de standaard. In plaats van 1 centrale tekst per bijeenkomst is er een uitgebreide bronnenlijst. Er zitten kortere en langere teksten in, maar ook podcasts en video’s. Zo kan iedereen hun eigen favoriete medium van informatie kiezen. Ook voorkomen we dat er een lineair scholingstraject begint waarbij mensen gewoon een bepaalde visie voor waar moeten aannemen.
Het doel is om een duidelijker beeld te krijgen wat wij elk persoonlijk denken over het concept en vervolgens samen te kijken naar alle goede en slechte kanten daarvan. Je mag van de bronnenlijst zo veel of zo weinig gelezen, geluisterd en gezien hebben als je wil. Zelfs als je alleen de Wikipedia pagina van dit onderwerp gelezen hebt mag je ook gewoon meedoen, het gaat om jouw visie, niet het aantal pagina’s dat je gelezen hebt. Kennis en analyse komt niet uit dikke boeken, maar die maken we samen.

Vrije Bond Reading group about anarchist principles
We are starting a new reading group about anarchism! Everybody is invited, whether you are a new member, have been active for years in or outside the Vrije Bond or just reading this on our website. This will be a monthly online reading group for the entire Vrije Bond and all anarchists outside as well. There are a lot of new members, so this is why we want to read about the basic principles of anarchism.

The goal of the reading group is to learn from and with each other. To look together at the building blocks of anarchism, what they look like and how we can give them shape in our world. The texts have to be a stepping stone to interesting discussions, but the focus is on the topics and discussions, not the texts themselves. It is also best if the reading group is as accessible as possible for many different people.
This is why we will take a slightly different approach from standard reading groups. In stead of 1 main text per session we will have a more expanded source list. There will be shorter and longer texts, but also podcasts and video’s. This way everybody can use their own favourite medium. This also prevents us from having a linear schooling course where people have to accept a specific certain vision.
The goal here is to give a more clear picture of what we personally think about the concept and then evaluate the good and bad sides of it. You can read, listen and view as much or as little of the source list as you want. Even if you only read the wikipedia page of the topic you are most welcome to join us. We are interested in your ideas, not the amount of pages you’ve read. Knowledge and analyses don’t come from thick books, but we make it together.
