In the first series of BunkerTalks, Kurdish activists located in the Netherlands are going to give a talk about the revolution led by Kurdish forces that was enabled through the civil war in Syria. More important than ever Rojava, although under serious threat due to Turkey’s invasion, still offers an alternative to islamism, nationalism and neoliberalism in the Middle East. In an interactive talk session we are going to look into the history of Rojava, the concept of democratic confederalism and the current situation in Rojava after the Turkish intervention.
During the night we do not accept racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, ableism. If you experience this or feel uncomfortable in any way, don’t be afraid to talk to any of the Bunker staff. No pictures!
