Het Actiefonds organiseert: de tweede editie van het AKSIE-café!
Heb jij ook zo’n last van het neoliberalisme? Heb je een klimaatdepressie? Word je wanhopig van de wereldwijde opkomst van extreemrechts? Wil je iets doen maar je weet niet wat? Kom dan naar het AKSIE-Café! Een avond waar we het gaan hebben over de problemen van onze tijd en vooral: wat we ertegen kunnen, of zelfs moeten doen!
Het is tijd om de oude idealen van engagement en activisme weer af te stoffen en in actie te komen voor de dingen die we belangrijk vinden. Ook in Nederland is er nog altijd een levendige actiebeweging waarbij je je kunt aansluiten. Of het nou om het klimaat, feminisme, of antiracisme gaat: jij kunt meedoen en genezen van je politieke apathie!
Het Actiefonds steunt al meer dan 50 jaar sociale bewegingen en actiegroepen over de hele wereld. Met het AKSIE-café willen we mensen informeren over hoe ze kunnen bijdragen aan de strijd voor een rechtvaardiger wereld en hoe je zelf een actie kunt organiseren. We nodigen activisten en sprekers uit en daarna gaan we in gesprek met vertegenwoordigers van verschillende actiegroepen in Nederland. Tot slot kunnen we napraten en naborrelen!
Het programma wordt zo snel mogelijk bekend gemaakt.
De eerste editie van het Aksie-café was een succes! We hebben interessante en inspirerende verhalen gehoord vanuit verschillende Nederlandse actiebewegingen. Zo vertelde Lily over haar werk voor de rechten van vluchtelingkinderen, Twister sprak over nut en noodzaak van klimaatactivisme, en Tom vertelde over zijn actiegroep die tegen de militarisering van de EU-grenzen strijdt. Tijd voor de tweede editie dus!
Het belangrijkste doel van het Aksie-café is om mensen te informeren en te mobiliseren. Activisme is die vorm van politiek die zich niet neerlegt bij valse tegenstellingen maar zich uit solidariteit tegen de verkeerde status quo keert. Dit is misschien wel belangrijker dan ooit, want de tijd dringt: klimaatverandering en verrechtsing zijn geen problemen die zichzelf gaan oplossen.
Het Aksie-café dient als plek waar we dit soort dingen met elkaar kunnen bespreken en waar we van activisten en van elkaar kunnen leren. Over de strijd die veel mensen, niet alleen in Nederland maar ook daarbuiten, al voeren, en hoe je je daarbij kan aansluiten.

Het Actiefonds organises: the second edition of AKSIE-café!
Do you suffer from neoliberalism? Do you have a climate depression? Does the global come-back of the extreme right frighten you? Do you want to do something but you don’t know what? Then come to a new edition of the AKSIE-café! An evening to discuss the problems that we face today and, especially, what we can do about them.
We believe it is time to dust off the old ideals of commitment and activism and to take action for the things we find important. The AKSIE-café serves as a platform for informing people about how they can contribute to the struggle for a just world and how they can organise actions themselves. We invite activists and speakers who represent different action groups and movements in the Netherlands and we’ll talk with them about how you can join in. We’ll have drinks afterwards!

The first edition of the Aksie-café was a success! We heard interesting and inspiring stories from different Dutch activists. Lily told us about her work for fugitive children, Twister spoke about the importance of climate activism, and Tom spoke about his action group that fights against the militarisation of EU-borders. Time for the second edition!
The most important purpose of the Aksie-café is to inform and mobilise people. Activism is that kind of politics that does not accept the false contradictions we are presented with but acts against the wrong status quo out of solidarity. This is more important than ever: problems like climate change or the re-emergence of right wing populism are not likely to solve themselves.
The Aksie-café is the place where we can discuss these kinds of issues en where can learn from activists and from each other. About the struggle many people, not only in the Netherlands but all over the globe, are engaged in, and how you can join them.
